POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator will identify, plan, coordinate, and implement social, practical and spiritual support events online and in-person (compliance with the provincial COVID safety guideline). As a member of the St. Catherines team (Brock University), he/she will work alongside other team members to focus on connecting international students and volunteers and facilitating a genuine and respectful international student community.

 

POSITION DETAILS

Position Type: Temporary Part-Time (Sept. 7, 2021 – Feb. 14, 2022; 12 hours/week for 23 weeks)
Salary: $14.50/hr (Position made possible by Canada Summer Job)
Location: Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Creatively identify, plan, implement and coordinate social, practical and spiritual support events (online and in- person) for international students. Ensure events comply with the provincial COVID safety guideline.
  2. Create and update social media postings; engage international students, and connect with volunteers online.
  3. Engage international students on campus; introduce and invite international students to join the FOCUS club and the Niagara International Students (NIS) community.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Between the age of 15 and 30.
  2. Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  3. Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  4. Oral & written English communications skills; ability to function both independently and under supervision.
  5. Proven ability to learn and improve; open to receive constructive feedback; flexible and adaptive.
  6. Excellent people skills; ability to build relationships cross-culturally.
  7. In agreement with ISMC’s Statement of Faith and comply with our Lifestyle Practice and Conduct Policy.
