I am excited about joining ISMC and what the Lord has in store moving forward. A bit about myself, I moved to Guelph at the start of 2020 from the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Originally, I am from out west as I grew up in Edmonton, have briefly lived in several prairie cities and spent 4 years living on Vancouver Island before moving to K-W in 2010 to attend Wilfrid Laurier University. While in the K-W region I served alongside a church working with campus students at U of Waterloo and Laurier, primarily with international students. I suppose this passion was embedded in me early as my parents housed a few high school students from Hong Kong when I was 4 years old. Some of my favorite moments are meals together at a table representing many nations. Such diversity is always a powerful reminder that God is truly a God of the nations.
Starting at ISMC is a sign of God’s providence. Another ISMC member reached out to me and this is how I learned about ISMC. I reached out to the city director in Guelph and as I learned about ISMC’s mission and values I was amazed at what a perfect fit there was. God has cultivated a passion for disciple-making and connecting with internationals in my life, so it was a no-brainer to join ISMC!
I am blessed with an amazing wife Brittany and two wonderful children, James 6 and Avery 4. God is doing amazing things to change me through my family as I learn more and more about what an amazing Father we have. We are a family that loves sports, with some tension in the house regarding our NHL teams. I’ve chosen the right and proper path as an Edmonton Oiler fan, while my wife long ago chose a path of darkness, being a Vancouver Canuck fan. We also have a 7 year old beagle named Tyson who is beloved by everyone in the family.
I look forward to serving alongside ISMC and meeting all the wonderful people connected with ISMC.
