Fundraising for staff salary goals includes salary needs, ministry expenses, and an 11% administration fee.
Donations are receipted only for staff and projects approved by the governing board. Designated gifts are used for the purpose for which they are given; when that given need is met, excess funds are used where needed most.
Gifts of $10 or more are acknowledged with an emailed income tax receipt from Canada Helps.
Online donations are subject to a 3.5% to 4% transaction processing fee. To ensure the total amount of your donation goes to ISMC, you may explore other giving options.
I lived most of my life in Kamloops, attended TRU in the mid-90’s, and met Edi there while we were both studying. We graduated in the same year and married seven days after convocation! After I graduated from Briercrest Seminary in Saskatchewan, we came home for pastoral ministry. Eleven years later, I joined ISMC and started leading TRU’s FOCUS Club, sharing Christ’s love with amazing individuals from all over the world.
About 35 students regularly attend our FOCUS Club. We have a great team of ten student and non-student leaders directing worship, table discussions, and social activities. I disciple these individuals and provide a place where they can share friendship, build confidence, and develop Christ-centered leadership skills. It is a pleasure to host gatherings in our home; for example, we invited 38 students for an Easter turkey and ham luncheon. We thank God for a blessed time of chatting, sharing, egg hunting, and water balloon volleyball.
As we plan for the new semester, please pray with us that God will send more Christian student leaders; many of our faithful volunteers graduated. We have great expectations and can’t wait to see what the Lord will do through us this fall.
