I am very delighted to join the ISMC community. Being able to participate in the international student services in Hamilton fills me with great honor and enthusiasm. In a city that hosts a significant number of international students, we witness their pressing needs. Many of these students are far from home and loved ones, navigating a new cultural backdrop while striving to overcome linguistic, cultural, and economic barriers as they pursue education and seek direction in life.
We see within them aspirations for the future, curiosity about new experiences, but also feelings of loneliness, confusion, and exhaustion. Moreover, we recognize their strong spiritual needs and the profound love and compassion that God has for them.
Both my husband David and I encountered the gospel during our university years. Throughout that time, missionaries and pastors provided us with invaluable guidance and support in life, work, and spiritually. They introduced us to Jesus, guided us to understand the truth of life, and through prayer and practical help, accompanied us through a crucial phase in our lives. It was during this period that our lives turned towards Jesus, and we became His disciples.
This particular experience instilled in us a deep commitment to serving university students. We have been engaged in this ministry for over fifteen years. God has gifted me with a special ability to empathize with young people. I enjoy befriending students, cooking for them, organizing various creative activities, exploring the campus and the surrounding culture, and discussing topics about the future and life with them. My husband has a clear gift for studying and teaching the Bible. Together, we complement each other by conducting outreach through workshops, festivals, and other creative means that appeal to young minds. Additionally, we nurture seekers and believers through Bible study groups, one-on-one teachings, relationship counseling, marriage guidance, and various other methods.
We eagerly anticipate being used by God in Hamilton to be a blessing to international students. May the love of our Heavenly Father be recognized and accepted by more students, and may the lives of these young individuals be transformed by Christ to bless others.
We look forward to your prayers and collaboration in various ways, as we work together for the kingdom of God.
